Job Description:
 
Lectureship/senior lectureship in English for academic purposes with a postgraduate degree in linguistics/applied linguistics/Language Education (English as a major). Teach at university level for undergraduate and supervise postgraduate students. Conduct and publish academic research in accredited journals. Work in both a team and independently in all areas of academic life i.e. teaching, research, administration, academic citizenship.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Teaching.
  • Course coordination and admin duties.
  • Research and postgraduate supervision.

Minimum requirements

  • Lecturer – MA in postgraduate degree in linguistics/applied linguistics/Language Education (English as a major) with plans to complete a PhD.
  • 3 years teaching experience at lecturer level.
  • Senior Lecturer – PhD in postgraduate degree in linguistics/applied linguistics/Language Education (English as a major)
  • 5 years teaching and research experience at senior lecturer level.

  • Excellence in teaching and research.
  • Postgraduate supervision experience for SL.
  • Good people skills.
  • Good problem-solving ideas.
  • Good computer skills.
Recommendations:
 
  • Two academic references for the Lectureship
  • Three academic references for the SL
