Job Description:
 
To administrate the corporate credit card portfolio, to supervise procurement and travel card administration, General Ledger reconciliations on various general ledger accounts and departmental petty cash maintenance.
 
Responsibilities: 
 
The incumbent will be expected to:
  • Administrate and report on the corporate credit card portfolio, to oversee procurement and travel card administration.
  • Compiling of journal entries
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations on various relevant trial balance accounts.
  • Petty cash float maintenance
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with clients and liaise with auditors.
  • Generate and distribute account management reports on monthly basis.
  • Manage alternative payment method administration.
  • Review financial reports to identify and explain variances.
  • Support Auditors in conducting internal and external audits.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/ relevant degree in financial management discipline (NQF level 7) or equivalent with at least 5 years’ experience in Accounting/finance or similar role
  • Auditing/Analyzing of financial transactions.
  • Banking & Higher education environment experience an added advantage
  • Strong reconciliations experience
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles
  
Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:
 
  • VAT application
  • Good understanding of accounting principles
  • Good understanding of ERP system
  • Experience in Oracle and ITS systems (or similar)
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Client centricity and good stakeholder relations (i.e. Banks, Management, assistants, FBPs and other Finance COEs etc).
  • Strong (written and verbal) communication skills at all levels.
