Job description

Job Purpose:
 
The role is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Student Information System to ensure optimal system functionality, providing end-user support and conducting system security user access in alignment with business operations.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Administer user requirements and support related to the Student Information System.
  • Manage the lifecycle support of students from the student application, registration and graduation processes.
  • Reset passwords and provide assistance for general system user access inquiries.
  • Troubleshoot connection problems and address queries related to student Information System performance.
  • Conduct testing for new or revised functionality to ensure seamless system operations and user experience.
  • Log service requests and incidents efficiently, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Take ownership of following up on all logged calls, ensuring timely resolution and user satisfaction.
  • Generate comprehensive weekly call statistics and produce insightful reports for analysis.
  • Maintain responsibility for uploading all reports to a centralised repository, ensuring accessibility and organised documentation.
  • Create users and grant appropriate permissions on menu options and termination of retired users on the Student Information System.
  • Draw daily and monthly security reports and files for auditing.
  • Monitor and regulate third-party’s access to Student Information System menu options.
  • Foster collaboration with various sections to effectively resolve student-related queries, promoting a seamless user experience.
  • Interface with third-party service providers to escalate and diligently follow up on logged faults, ensuring swift issue resolution.
  • Administer the interface between the Student Information System, HR System and the Access Card System, facilitating seamless integration and functionality across systems.

Minimum requirements

  • National Diploma: IT qualification (NQF 6)
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in IT
  • Experience in System Administration and Support
  • Good knowledge of Student Information Systems environment
