Job description
- Be situated at the Auckland Park Campus, Kingsway, but not excluded from teaching on other campuses
- Teach allocated modules
- Conduct and publish your own research within a focus area in Industrial Psychology or Human Resource Management
- Fulfil leadership and administrative roles in our Department when required
- If you join our Department, you will:
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students, and learners from our client organisations
- Supervise postgraduate students’ research, including honours level research
- Conduct and publish your own research within a research focus area of your personal interest
- Fulfil leadership roles in our Department
- Make a meaningful difference through community engagement
- Forge and maintain external professional networks
Minimum requirements
- A relevant Masters degree in Human Resource Management (or the equivalent thereof). A PhD is preferred/advantageous
- Currently enrolled/completing a PhD in Human Resource Management (or the equivalent thereof)
- A professional registration with South African Board for People Practices
- Lecturing experience in Human Resources and its related subjects at a reputable higher education institution, locally or globally. Such subjects include but not limited to Employment/Labour Relations, HR analytics and metrics.
- Well-developed quantitative and/or qualitative methodology skills
- Published articles in accredited, peer-reviewed journals
- Supervised research projects of postgraduate students successfully
- An excellent ability to speak and write in English
- Good leadership and team-oriented skills
- Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Computer Literacy
- Teaching to undergraduate students
- Management skills
- Research skills
- Use of research software (ATLAS TI, SPSS)
- Teaching experience at a Higher Education Institution
- A track record of postgraduate research supervision and publication in the relevant field
- Proven record of engagement with the scholarship of teaching, e.g. teaching evaluation or relevant portfolio
- Innovative teaching techniques incorporating technology
- Proven record of participation department committees
- Willingness to participate in qualification leadership role
