Job description

- Be able to lecture at the undergraduate level
- Be able to undertake clinical instruction and assessment
- Be able to assess learners theoretically and clinically
- Be prepared to travel to training centres to assess learners
- Undertake research and publish the results
- Supervise postgraduate students
- Must show a commitment to excellence in teaching and innovation within the field
- Perform academic and administrative duties as required within the Department of MIRS and the Faculty of Health Sciences
- Community engagement involvement for the betterment of the institution and community.
- Continuously develop self in the scientific field, career development and leadership qualities.
Minimum requirements
- Masters qualification in Radiography. The successful candidate will be expected to register for a doctoral degree soon after commencement of duties.
- Registration with HPCSA in the Radiography and Clinical Technology Board.
- Minimum of 3 years lecturing experience in medical imaging and radiation sciences.
- Driver’s license (minimum code 08).
- Experience in medical imaging and radiation sciences undergraduate teaching and learning.
- Experience in preparing and delivering undergraduate clinical training and assessments.
- Experience in designing, executing and evaluating assessments clinically and theoretically.
- Broad Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences disciplinary knowledge, skills and competencies
- Computer Literacy.
- Proficiency in English.
- Good organizational, inter- and intrapersonal communication skills, and a proven record of academic administration.
- Professional integrity.

- Doctoral degree or registered for a PhD
- Post graduate supervisory experience.
- Undertaking research, and presenting and publishing the results.
