Job description

The purpose of the role is to manage and control all functions related to Accounting and Audit functions within Finance Expenditure.

Responsibilities: 

The core responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Reconcile all general ledger accounts relating to Accounts Payable, warehouse Inventories and Fixed assets
  • Compile and report on budgets.
  • Coordinate and control the audit environment for Finance Expenditure
  • Be the liaison between auditors and the department
  • Take responsibility for the audit outcomes and its resolution.
  • Coordinate all audits, external, internal risk registers
  • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that all the information is available to perform the function
  • Complies with good governance, accounting, tax and audit legislations.
  • Ensure compliance to IRFS

Minimum requirements

  • Degree within Financial management discipline
  • At least 3 year proven working experience as an accountant or similar role
  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles

  • Excellent verbal, written communication skills
  • Experience in a Higher Education Institute in the same role
