Job description
The Council of the University of Johannesburg has declared the University as a mandatory vaccination site as per the applicable policy ((https://www.uj.ac.za/covid-19/). All applications and offers of employment is dependent upon compliance with the said policy.
- Manage established commodities across the University contracts for goods and services to ensure the delivery of outcomes in line with contract objectives, University and customer requirements.
- Monitor contract performance and compliance in accordance with the contract, contract management plan, risk management plan and organisational policies and procedures.
- Assist to analyse contract related information including supplier contract reporting and provide reports regarding contract activity and performance (including University reporting).
- Assist to manage allocated contract implementation and transition, including management of supplier and University activities.
- Schedule, organise, minute and chair contract negotiation with relevant parties.
- Establish cross-functional teams, working closely with end users, Commodity Team, technical specialists and Supply Chain Management officers/Buyers to consolidate technical specifications and commercial requirements for contract development.
- Assist the Contracts & Commodities Specialist to develop the Institutional Annual Procurement Plan.
- Assist in the development and deployment of commodity sourcing strategies and actions.
- Assist to conduct market research and data analysis of strategic commodities
- Deliver high quality customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain strong customer relationships with stakeholders and suppliers including effectively managing contract enquiries, issues, disputes, variations, and risks and undertaking negotiations with suppliers as required.
- Maintain and update the Contract Database Management System.
- Assist with regular information/data updates.
Minimum requirements
- 3-year (NQF 6) Diploma or higher in Procurement or Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- 3 years’ experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management or Contract Management
- 3 years’ experience working with ERP systems
- Working knowledge of MS Office package
- Excellent written, verbal, listening and interpersonal communication skills;
- Highly attentive to detail with well-developed proof reading and accurate data entry skills;
- Well-developed negotiation skills and Management
- Good stakeholder management skills with the ability to build strong customer relationships;
- Good time management skills;
- Project Management and Planning and Organising skills
- Good financial management skills;
- Ability to conduct strategic sourcing;
- Excellent Contracts Management skills;
- Understanding legislative requirements
