Job description
- Develop an organisational design, development and change management philosophy and process for UJ, especially considering other key stakeholder input.
- Facilitate strategic interventions in identified areas which must be aligned to the UJ ‘s strategic objectives Follow ‘fit for purpose’ practices to ensure that processes are being aligned to strategic objectives.
- Ensure the implementation of organisational design, development and change initiatives and processes.
- Review the overarching talent management strategy and ensure the implementation of related strategies and initiatives.
- Develop key policies and practices, aligned with the human capital strategy to reposition UJ as an employer of choice.
- Implement and monitor revised Performance Management Policy and online system.
- Facilitate and support upskilling of staff, management, and professional development through the development of career paths, development of core competencies and revision of job profiles at all levels.
- Provide an employee value proposition through OD activities.
- Support the annual strategic workforce planning process in consultation with key stakeholders.
- Develop a Training Management Policy and implement an integrated training and development programmes and services for staff and management.
- Work closely with HR Business Partners to ensure effective implementation of OD and related talent initiatives.
- Working in conjunction with the HR Budget Controller and HR Business Partners in support of the annual staff budget and modelling process.
- Ensure the implementation of an Attraction and Resourcing strategy, aligned to the Resourcing Policy.
- Develop best practice recruitment and selection strategies to ensure an effective implementation of a recruitment strategy aligned to the UJ strategic plan.
- Ensure the effective management of the allocated HR budget Management of Organisational Development Team.
- Ensure good governance and effective management reporting.
- Provide Leadership to the OD team in collaboration with other HR Functions.
Minimum requirements
- Postgraduate qualification and/or advanced technical or professional certification (NQF 8), or
- Industry Specific Qualification (NQF 8) with 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience.
- Knowledge of organisational design principles and techniques.
- Knowledge of organisational development.
- Knowledge of training and development. Knowledge of new trends in Human Resources.
- Knowledge of management of data.
- Proven experience in Project Management.
- Knowledge and experience of all Human Resources disciplines.
- Advanced communication. Analytical thinking.
- Problem solving. Planning.
- Transformative abilities. Conflict handling.
- Conceptualization Leadership and lead by example.
- Proven ability to function at senior management level.
- Proven ability and track record to work with Executive stakeholders.
- At least 5 years’ experience Higher Education is highly recommended.
- Experience and knowledge of other process areas (other than Human Resources) is recommended
- Membership of HR professional body.
