Job description

The Accountant role serves as an independent review of all cash management controls and transactions, it is accountable for drafting and clearing all bank reconciliations.

Responsibilities:
 
The Incumbent will be accountable for but not limited to:

  • Reconcile high volumes of accounts on a weekly and monthly basis;
  • Implement, review and manage cash management controls
  • Follow up and clear unidentified deposits
  • Bank receipt allocation
  • Enforce and manages policy and procedures regarding accounts and reconciliation
  • Prepares correctional journals and ensures that corrections are done in the relevant payments are made.
  • Liaise with auditors
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with clients and liaise with auditors.


Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/ relevant degree in financial management discipline with at least 5 years’ experience in Accounting/finance or similar role
  • Auditing/Analysing of financial transactions
  • Banking & Higher education environment experience
  • Strong reconciliations experience

  • Experience in Oracle and ITS systems (or similar)
