Accountant: Cash Management (P8) (Financial Governance & Revenue - Treasury & Sundry Debtors)

Job description
- Reconcile high volumes of accounts on a weekly and monthly basis;
- Implement, review and manage cash management controls
- Follow up and clear unidentified deposits
- Bank receipt allocation
- Enforce and manages policy and procedures regarding accounts and reconciliation
- Prepares correctional journals and ensures that corrections are done in the relevant payments are made.
- Liaise with auditors
- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with clients and liaise with auditors.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/ relevant degree in financial management discipline with at least 5 years’ experience in Accounting/finance or similar role
- Auditing/Analysing of financial transactions
- Banking & Higher education environment experience
- Strong reconciliations experience
- VAT application
- Good understanding of Accounting principles
- Good understanding of ERP system
- Experience in Oracle and ITS systems (or similar)
- Computer Literacy (MS Office)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong (written and verbal) communication skills at all levels
- Analytical and critical thinking
- Problem identification and solving
- Assertiveness
