Job description

  • UJ invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for position of Multimedia Broadcaster/ Producer. The candidate will be responsible for managing the setup, production, and programming of the specific UJ TV projects.
  • The position is located within the Strategic Communications Unit, University Relations and requires the successful candidate to liaise with a multitude of stakeholders within and outside of the University. 
 
Responsibilities:  
 
  • Developing topics and programming for UJTV.
  • Overseeing the production process, including film schedules; scripts; talent; sound and lighting.
  • Managing the post-production process including, music selection, editing and special effects
  • Seeing the production through from conception to final cut and ensuring that the final product is of the highest quality.
  • Pitching shows that have already been made to the mainstream media.
  • Ensuring a project stays within budget and on schedule.

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Film, Communications, Advertising, or related field.
  • 2 – 3 Three years of television or film production working experience
  • Knowledge of Final Cut Pro or similar non-linear editing software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours.
