Job description

The Council of the University of Johannesburg has declared the University as a mandatory vaccination site as per the applicable policy ((https://www.uj.ac.za/covid-19/). All applications and offers of employment is dependent upon compliance with the said policy.


Key areas of work to be fulfilled
 
  • Assist team in prepare, analyse and interpret the monthly management reports with supporting explanations and recommendations;
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness and combine information;
  • Prepare of ad-hoc reports.
  • Ensure that all monthly Funds Available Detail
  • Reports are prepared, illustrating variances with flagging;
  • Handle complex and technical financial, administrative and cost effectiveness policy and program issues within the Department;
  • Produce detailed and summary reports for departments management on all funding sources;
  • Maintain, approve and check funds and account allocation of expenditures within the approved budget.
  • Assist with queries regarding outstanding encumbrances, invoices and payment requisitions
  • Ensure implementation of internal control points or recommendations raised by external and internal auditors.
  • Assist and provide business intelligence and, if required, supporting documents and reconciliations during preparation to internal and external audits and coordinate the smooth implementation thereof





Minimum requirements

  • Financial Diploma or an equivalent qualification
  • Computer skills (MS Office and other relevant computer packages, in particular)

Criteria for selection of candidates:
  • Graduates between the ages of 18 and 35.
  • Not studying full time (preferably attending after hours classes).
  • Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
  • Have NOT participated in any Learnership/Internship programme before.
  • Be willing to commit to the Internship for the period of 6 months.
