Job description

The Council of the University of Johannesburg has declared the University as a mandatory vaccination site as per the applicable policy ((https://www.uj.ac.za/covid-19/). All applications and offers of employment is dependent upon compliance with the said policy.


  • Liaising with SARL Placement officers, Student Governance, NSFAS office, UJ Occupational Health and Safety, City of Johannesburg, SAPS, University of Johannesburg Students and the community.
  • Receiving and screening of application forms for accreditation.
  • Management and Compiling database of students residing in off-campus accommodation
  • Educating students on their responsibilities as good tenants and citizens in residential areas.
  • Managing and compiling of database of students residing in privately owned student accommodation.
  • Setting and monitoring standards of properties for student accommodation.
  • Attending to student needs or complains
  • He/ she performs any other duty duly requested by the seniors

Minimum requirements

  • Relevant National Diploma and Certification (NQF 6) or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Three (3) year experience in Student Accommodation.
  • Two (2) year experience working with Student Life in residences.
  • Knowledge of the Higher Education Act and Policy on minimum norms and standards for student housing at public universities.
  • Knowledge of Rental Act of 1999.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the residence policies, processes and procedures regarding Privately Owned Student Accommodation;

  • Driver's license.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to use a high degree of initiative and sound judgement.
  • Effective negotiation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Excellent people skills
  • Knowledge of the UJ Regulations for STUDENT DISCIPLINE;
  • Knowledge of the UJ STUDENT REGULATIONS;
  • Knowledge of the National Building Regulations;
