Job description

UJ invites suitably qualified individuals to apply for position of Coordinator: Web Publisher. The candidate will be responsible for positioning UJ by managing the online content and coordinating, creating, publishing, editing, reviewing and maintaining web content that is of high quality, relevant and up to date. The position is located within the Strategic Communications Unit, University Relations and requires the successful candidate to liaise with a multitude of stakeholders within and outside of the University.
 
Responsibilities:  

  • Builds and uploads web pages for the University website.
  • Day-to-day front-end website maintenance
  • Web content quality control
  • Designs online templates for newsletters and applications.
  • Provide recommendations for layout to maximise page conversion
  • Troubleshoots website content, links, order flow and report-based problems.

Minimum requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology any relevant qualification (NQF 7)
  • 2 to 3 years experience in website content management
  • Graphic design
  • Online template and website design
 
Competencies and Behavioural Attributes:

  • Functional understanding of modern, responsive site construction, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Strong working understanding of web layout and presentation best practices
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, be able to work independently and complete assignments/projects without supervision.
  • Be able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
