Position Summary

Job description
- Lecture students in communication skills at first-year level
- Set formative and summative assessment tasks, assignments, papers
- Evaluate and mark assessment opportunities
- Evaluate student performance and progress
- Carry out administration (e.g. collate and upload marks)
- Design and develop course materials
- Supervise tutors and manage tutorial activities
- Produce research outcomes (e.g. publications, academic degrees)
Minimum requirements
- Master’s degree, preferably in English, Communication, Linguistics, or Academic Literacy (experts in Education will also be considered) and working towards a doctoral degree
- Higher Education teaching experience of at least 5 years
- Computer literacy
- Time management skills
- Ability to self-motivate
- Excellent inter-personal communication skills
- Good record-keeping skills
- Creativity and inventiveness
- Ability to work well in a team
- Flexibility and adaptability
- Problem-solving abilities
- Experience with university software programmes (e.g. MAMS, Blackboard)
- Experience in online and blended learning
- Ability to add worth to the department in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR)
- Ability to demonstrate and apply 21st century pedagogic skills
- Existing publication record
