Job description

Lecturer in Applied Communicative Skills and Academic Literacy

Responsibilities:  
 
  • Lecture students in communication skills at first-year level
  • Set formative and summative assessment tasks, assignments, papers
  • Evaluate and mark assessment opportunities
  • Evaluate student performance and progress
  • Carry out administration (e.g. collate and upload marks)
  • Design and develop course materials
  • Supervise tutors and manage tutorial activities
  • Produce research outcomes (e.g. publications, academic degrees)

Minimum requirements

  • Master’s degree, preferably in English, Communication, Linguistics, or Academic Literacy (experts in Education will also be considered) and working towards a doctoral degree
  • Higher Education teaching experience of at least 5 years
  • Computer literacy
