Job description
- Oversee matters reported through the Whistleblowing Hotline
- Monitor and track reported cases to ensure proper categorisation and resolution
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of high-risk or critical issues
- Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity in compliance with relevant regulations
- Conduct forensic investigations, including planning, evidence collection, and analysis
- Conduct interviews with relevant parties as part of investigation procedures
- Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation of findings and recommendations
- Present investigation findings to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders
- Safeguard confidentiality and uphold integrity throughout investigative processes
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to institutional risk mitigation strategies
- Develop and implement a Combined Assurance Framework
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among internal and external assurance providers
- Monitor and report on assurance activities, highlighting gaps and improvements
- Enhance risk and control coverage aligned with institutional priorities
- Integrate assurance activities into enterprise risk management (ERM) processes
- Build stakeholder confidence through transparent risk reporting and governance
- Ensure adherence to governance frameworks, corporate policies, and legal requirements
- Manage compliance and reporting obligations, including audits and oversight reports
Minimum requirements
- Degree in Risk Management or relevant Business / Management degree (NQF 8)
- At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in Risk Management, Fraud Risk Management or similar role in a Management role,
- Experience in conducting forensic investigations (mandatory)
- Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) or Member of Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA) (preferable)
- CFE or other Professional affiliation (preferable)
- Experience in automated / integrated risk management tools
- Strong competency in MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience of a tertiary educational environment (optional)
- Expertise in forensic investigation methodologies and tools.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent interviewing and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of regulatory and legal frameworks applicable to investigations.
- Strong understanding of combined assurance principles, risk management, and governance frameworks.
- Ability to coordinate and manage multiple stakeholders and assurance providers.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address assurance gaps.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills for presenting assurance outcomes.
- Proficiency in risk and assurance management tools and systems.
- Strong ability to work under pressure and according to strict deadlines.
- Strong Business acumen.
- Ability to exercise judgement in assessing and mitigating risks.
- Understanding of internal audit processes and audit findings.
- Maintain high level of integrity and ethical standards.
- Ability to influence others and gain commitment,
