Job description
- Provide access to relevant information resources to the University community, with special emphasis on blended and hybrid learning
- Actively promote the facilitate and services of the library for optimal access to information
- Provide information skilling to the members of the University community
- Provide support to the research community
- Develop the collection and oversee
Minimum requirements
- Degree in Library and Information Science; or equivalent qualification (NQF 7)
- Minimum of two years' recent experience of information service provision in a higher education institution library or a special or a research library.
- Information retrieval skills in various formats of information resources, including information discovery and tools
- Knowledge and experienced in the use of social networking applications
- Experienced in the delivery of information skilling and presentations
- Good oral and written communication, including report writing
- Proficiency in English
- Computer literacy with working knowledge of applicable Microsoft software packages
- Strong client orientation and good people skills
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the provision of information and research support to undergraduate, postgraduates and academic staff
- Responsible, reliable, accountable, and dedicated to professional conduct and ethics
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Ability to resolve conflict
- Equipped with a postgraduate qualification
- Previous experience of working in Humanities faculty or academic environment
- Familiarity with using bibliometric tools
