Faculty/Dept./Division: Centre for Academic Technologies

The Centre for Academic Technologies (CAT) supports teaching and learning through innovative and advanced technologies. Ensuring the training and support of the use of such technologies for both staff and students is a central part of CAT. CAT consists of staff support (Instructional Design Team), student support (Helpdesk Team), and technical/data support (IT team). The incumbent successful in this role will be required to work in student and staff support.

Responsibilities:
 
  • To work in a team of first responders to student and staff queries
  • To understand and internalise the use of systems for student and staff support (i.e. internal ticketing and referral system)
  • Know about UJ systems and processes
  • Develop a network with UJ support service stakeholders
  • Keep track and record student support project/s
  • Provide training to students/staff on the use of technology for learning and/or teaching


Minimum requirements

  • A Degree at NQF level 7.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of job-related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
