Job Description:

  • The Marketing Department at the Johannesburg Business School (JBS) is actively recruiting for an Administrative Assistant III: Graphic Design & Photography to join its dynamic team (three-years fixed-term contract)
  • We are looking for a talented entry-level Graphic Designer to join our creative digital team. In this role, you will help with the design and creation of digital marketing material for social media and other platforms, as well as photography assignments for events and other initiatives from time to time.
  • The ideal incumbent should be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and other relevant graphic design software and technologies, and should be able to produce high-quality material within reasonable deadlines.
  • The role will report to the Marketing Coordinator with a dotted reporting line to the Director: Executive Education & Programmes.
 
Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for the -
  • Design of digital images and other digital marketing copy.
  • Contribution to decisions around layouts, typography, and photography in close consultation with the line manager.
  • Contribution to market research from time to time.
  • Adhering to project guidelines, processes, and deadlines.
  • Uploading of project information on the designated software for workload management purposes.
  • Photography assignments from time to time to cover special events and other creative initiatives.

Minimum requirements

  • A National Diploma or equivalent NQF-6 qualification in graphic design, communication design, or digital art.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant job-related experience.
  • Six to twelve months’ experience as an intern or freelance graphic designer and photographer.
  • Working knowledge or familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Basic knowledge of photography and relevant editing tools.
  • Attention to detail and a flair for the creative.
