Manager II: Digital Scholarship (P7) (Library & Information Centre: Client Services)
Position Summary

Job description
- To develop, establish and maintain a comprehensive service of digital scholarship to the University.
- To perform text data mining and other forms of research based on digital scholarship for academics, postdoctoral fellows and postgraduate students.
- To teach academics, postgraduate researchers and postdoctoral fellows how to use digital scholarship software themselves.
- To teach undergraduate students digital literacy which focuses on helping students to evaluate the information they encounter on all digital platforms.
- To develop and support digital humanities for the faculties of Humanities, Education, and Art, Architecture and Design.
Minimum requirements
- A Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Politics, Economics or a similar discipline;
- Minimum of two years’ experience of working in digital scholarship using the latest digital scholarship programs and packages. This could include experience gain in doing research for a Masters or PhD.
- Competencies in aspects of digital scholarship and using some programs and platforms for digital scholarship;
- Knowledgeable and experienced in qualitative and quantitative research, with a working knowledge of SPSS and Atlas Ti;
- Ability to analyse big data sets on the principles of digital scholarship using the latest digital scholarship platforms and programs;
- Experienced in training people about digital scholarship and how to use some of the platforms and programs;
- Good oral and written communication, including report writing;
- Proficient in English;
- Strong client orientation and good people skills;
- Knowledgeable and experienced in the provision of digital literacy training to undergraduates and postgraduates;
- Ability to work both in a team and independently.
- A PhD in Social Science, Economics, Politics or a related discipline in which digital scholarship was used in the data analysis of the research project.
