Job description
- Supervision of the operational requirements of the Campus Health Clinics with respect to Primary Health Care.
- Ensuring the provision of adequate sexual reproductive health and rights services.
- Ensuring that the Wellness programmes are planned for and executed according to the schedule
- Working closely with the Medical Doctor to ensure that the optimum healthcare services are provided.
- Ensuring good Pharmacy Practice and overseeing the compliance thereof
- Management of stock controls for equipment and medical supplies
- Support and enable the provision of youth-friendly services.
- Monitor and sustain quality assurance throughout the clinic activities.
- Providing a caring environment for the patients and clients.
- Ensuring adherence to proper waste disposal techniques.
- Ensuring adherence to universal principles of infection control.
- Continuous monitoring of risks the Centre is exposed to and the mitigation thereof.
- Managing the performance, training, and supervising a team of administrators and counsellors.
- Ensuring full compliance with all policies and procedures relevant to the health facility consistently.
- Ensuring staff and processes work effectively in accordance with agreed Service Level Agreements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to carry out the Centre’s objectives.
- Ensuring compliance of all staff to procurement policies and procedures.
- Controlling & implementing the departmental operational budget, in compliance with the regulations.
- Provision and supervision of health promotion, cognizant of the health calendar
- Ensuring the maintenance of all licenses to practice is effectively managed.
- Generate quarterly and annual reports.
Minimum requirements
- NQF 7 qualification in the relevant field of Health Sciences (General Nursing, Community Health, Psychiatric Nursing) and Midwifery.
- Advanced Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment, and Care.
- Dispensing Licence.
- Registration with the relevant professional council (SANC).
- 5 years’ experience in General Nursing and Primary Health Care Nursing in a Public and/or Private sector.
- 3-5 years’ experience in management of a Primary Health Care clinic; including supervision over staff.
- Extensive experience as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- HIV/AIDS and ART management experience.
- Health Promotion experience.
- Reproductive health experience, including the latest developments in Family Planning methods.
- Good knowledge of legislation related to PHC.
- Clinical principles in the management of minor ailments.
- Good pharmacy practice.
- Basic counseling skills.
- Conflict management.
- Traveling between campuses is included in the departmental activities.
- Be in possession of a valid driver’s license.
- Working outside normal working hours may be necessary to implement some of the outreach initiatives.
- Excellent written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good management skills in a health setting.
- Good time management skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Strong interpersonal relationships, with the ability to relate with all levels of management, staff, and contractors.
- Analytical thinking.
- High levels of individual accountability, integrity, and honesty.
- A Strong commitment to customer service.
- Flexibility to work within an environment, where competing and changing priorities exist, with processes developed quickly to ensure quality outcomes that best meet business needs.
