Job description
- Daily operation of equipment and provision of training and advice as required
- Administration regarding booking of instrument time, purchasing of consumables, maintenance
- Controlling inventories
- Completion and invoicing of work for other tertiary institutions and private companies
- Continuous skills development
- Participate in research
- Participate in annual international benchmarking of analytical results
Minimum requirements
- Master’s degree in Science
- Minimum of 3 years’ hands on experience operating an ICP-MS and ICP-OES
- The incumbent should be able to work independently under pressure in a multi-disciplinary environment and have superior people skills in order to provide effective service to a variety of users with various levels of knowledge, experience and expertise.
- Extensive experience in operating and maintaining analytical equipment
- Specific ICP training
- Record of published research
