Position Summary

Job description
- Provides support and assistance to the aircon artisans to execute their duties throughout the university
- Assists with basic (aircon, refrigeration, and mechanical) maintenance, repair, and installation under the guidance of qualified aircon artisans
- Service air coils
- Cleaning, inspection, and replacement of filters
- Ensures proper housekeeping and cleaning of workshops, HVAC plant rooms, and associated equipment (eg. Filters)
- Maintains tools, vehicles, and equipment and keeps parts and supplies in order
Minimum requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF 4) or equivalent
- Three (3) to four (4) years' of experience in basic aircon and mechanical maintenance
- Experience in working with power tools
- Technical knowledge with a focus on work standards and customer
- Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Demonstrate ability to work in a team
- Strong interpersonal relationships
- Cleaning and storage of tools
- Excellent communication skills
- Good listening skills
- Customer focused
- Ability to identify and solve problems
- Code 8 drivers' license
