Job description
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their objectives, challenges, and needs.
- Elicit, document, and prioritise business requirements, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
- Analyse existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Model current and future state processes using techniques such as process mapping and flowcharting.
- Conduct data analysis to ensure the introduction of fit for purpose solutions.
- Create detailed functional specifications or user story boards as well as project related documentation to outline the solution functionality, business rules and implementation parameters.
- Work closely with technical teams to design IT solutions that address business needs.
- Assist in project planning, estimation and monitoring to ensure successful project delivery.
- Support projects by addressing issues, clarifying requirements, and managing scope changes where required.
- Facilitate communication between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring common understanding of requirements and achievement of agreed deliverables.
- Build and sustain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Organise and lead meetings, workshops, and interviews to gather, analyse and validate information.
- Develop training materials and communication plans.
- Provide input into the Solutions Delivery strategy based on industry trends, best practices, and business insights.
- Maintain the Business Analysis Framework.
- Identify and manage risks that could adversely impact the institution.
- Mitigate audit findings and guard against repeat findings.
- Test developed solutions to ensure they meet the required requirements.
- Run user acceptance testing (UAT) and validate that the solutions/systems align with business expectations and quality standards.
- Comply to approved standards and frameworks during the execution of daily tasks.
- Adhere to secure and privacy by design principles to protect data subjects.
- Adhere to change management process.
- Identify opportunities for process optimisation and propose innovative solutions.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in business analysis to provide guidance and make recommendations to the business.
Minimum requirements
- NQF Level 7 Qualification in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent
- Five (5) to eight (8) years’ experience in business analysis, encompassing requirement gathering, process analysis and solution design.
- Knowledge and understanding of:
- Agile software development lifecycle methodology CI/CD tools e.g., Microsoft Azure Devops
- Process modelling tools
- Technical proficiency such as using business analysis tools and techniques, process modelling and data analysis tools, as well as project management software
