Job Description:

To provide effective and efficient administrative and coordination support to the Manager and safety practitioners. Assist with safety-related tasks within Occupational Safety Department

Responsibilities:
 
  • Assist with emergency drills after hours
  • Fire mobile inspections 2 weekly
  • Inspect all emergency telephones monthly
  • Develop an effective filing system to ensure that the inspection forms are filled.
  • Assist with testing of evacuation alarms monthly
  • Assist with the installation of safety signs
  • Provide administrative support to the department’s teams as and when required.
  • Inspect escape doors at the JOB daily
  • Attend to alarms being activated during working hours

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 (NQF 4) with relevant Diploma (NQF 6) in Occupational Safety.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in occupational Safety.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and extensive confidential data.
  • Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with the use of e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, database, and use of the Internet.
  • Fire marshal training
  • First aid level one training
  • Valid code 8 driver’s license
  • Ability to work overtime as and when required
