Job description
- Teach and assess transportation engineering related modules at undergraduate and post graduate levels
- Supervise research and laboratory work at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
- Conduct own research and publish articles in accredited journals.
- Actively participate in the department and faculty committees.
- Assist the department with academic and administrative activities.
Minimum requirements
- The minimum requirement is a Master’s Degree (NQF 9) in Civil Engineering. To be considered for the lecturer position, the successful incumbent will be required to undertake a doctorate qualification (NQF 10) within a five (5) year period. The position will be offered on a fixed-term contract and converted to a permanent one after attaining the doctorate.
- At least 3 years of lecturing experience at a tertiary institution.
- ECSA registration or eligible for registration with ECSA.
- Research specialization that articulates well with the existing interest of the department.
- Evidence of research outputs and proven track record of postgraduate supervision at Honours level or higher.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with high level of proficiency in English
- Computer literacy including MS Office (MS Word and Excel)
