Job description

Job Specification:

The University of Johannesburg is actively recruiting for a Lecturer in the Department of Finance and Investment Management. The Department of Finance and Investment Management is a dynamic department offering a variety of qualifications at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Most of the undergraduate and post graduate qualifications are affiliated or accredited by a professional body.
 
Duties:

The incumbent will be expected to:
  • Lecturing at under and postgraduate level in the Financial Planning and Investments discipline with special reference to estate and wealth planning, retirement planning, investment planning, risk management and tax planning subject specific modules.
  • Conduct research in the field of financial planning and regularly publish in accredited academic journals.
  • Participate in identified community outreach projects.
  • Perform administrative duties as instructed by the HOD or Programme Manager.
  • Supervise both Honours and Masters students.
  • A commitment to pursue further studies towards a PhD.

Minimum requirements

  • A Master's Degree (NQF 9) in a Finance related field.
  • An NQF level 8 qualification in Financial Planning that is accredited by the FPI to become a CFP® professional.
  • Working knowledge of advanced Finance Software.
  • Previous lecturing experience in the relevant subject disciplines.
