Job description
- Oversee the undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), Continuing Education Programmes, Online Programmes, and all other application processes, including both online and hardcopy applications.
- Oversee the UG, PG and Online Programmes' selection processes.
- Oversee all tasks related to admissions and selections, such as student biographics and documentation, as well as the UJ Call Centre.
- Developing, implementing, and managing new processes and systems as requested by the Registrar. Oversee the control of errors found in the data on applications.
- Oversee the correction of data discrepancies between ITS, ARS and Perceptive Content.
- Managing the budget and expenditure in the department.
- Managing all Human Capital Management administration (filling of vacancies, appointment of temps, training, disciplinaries, etc.).
- Oversee the general office administration and operations.
- Ongoing and timeous handling of risks within SEC (e.g., Human Resources, systems and process issues).
- Ongoing and timeous handling of risks with external stakeholders such as HEPSA, AdaptIT, and governing bodies (DHET, CAS, USAf).
- Oversee the work of the Supervisors responsible for Selections, Biographics, Contact Centre, and Processes and Systems.
Minimum requirements
- NQF level 8 qualification.
- Managerial skills.
- Knowledge of academic administration within Higher Education (7 years).
- Managerial experience in UJ practices, policies and procedures (7 years).
- Supervisory and managerial experience (5 years).
- Knowledge of financial/budget principles and the IDU system.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Higher Education Act, Institutional Statute).
- Strategic management experience.
- Risk management experience.
- Knowledge of UJ policies, procedures, and business processes regarding academic administration.
- Knowledge of new CAS project and USAf processes.
- Sound knowledge of the entire student life cycle.
- Sound knowledge of enrolment management.
- A Master’s degree.
- Sound knowledge of all the UJ Systems (ITS, ARS, Perceptive Content, HEDA, Oracle, IDU etc).
- Knowledge of Metrofile and Bytes Call Centre systems.
