Job description
- Present design studios, construction, and theory lectures and workshops at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Assess students and administer the modules.
- Assist with curriculum development, module- coordination, and administration in modules.
- Actively undertake research and creative productions that lead to research outcomes/publications.
- Participate in community engagement programs and projects.
- Assist with administrative duties as determined by the Head of the Department or the Executive Dean.
- Initiate, develop, and support research within the staff body.
- Programme administration via the online platforms to the faculty.
Minimum requirements
- Master’s degree in architecture or relevant design discipline
- At least three years of proven practice experience in the built environment or three years of lecturing experience at the tertiary level.
- Relevant discipline- based knowledge/experience.
- Evidence of participation in curriculum innovation and education
- Good language and communication skills
- Good computer and graphic skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel; CAD: Revit: Rhino
- Potential to become an academic of high standing.
- Academic writing skills as evidenced by publications in relevant journals or participation in conference proceedings and production of creative outputs.
- Team player and collegial
- Willingness and ability to engage directly with research upon taking up office.
- Registration with SACAP
- Ability to relate teaching to research and creative practice or work and vice versa.
- Experience or ability to work within the strategic objectives of the university.
- Experience or ability to work with the concepts of Decolonisation and 4IR.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms/ blended learning tools.
- Involvement with Community engagement
- Interest to begin the PhD process upon appointment
