Job description:

A particular focus of the position is to examine the business implications of established and emerging digital technologies and practices in a super-diverse world.

 

Job Purpose:

 To oversee the effective operational support of all activities relating to the Programme, collaborate closely with the management team and the Academic Director to provide a professional environment where students will be provided with the training and support required to achieve their academic and professional aspirations.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end operational delivery of the Programme in collaboration with senior management, ensuring compliance with academic regulations and accreditation requirements.
  • Coordinate all programme activities in line with delivery guidelines to ensure high-quality service.
  • Monitor student engagement, progress and performance, escalating concerns and implementing interventions where necessary.
  • Manage admissions processes, student communication and serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and current students.
  • Deliver effective student and staff induction processes, including LMS orientation, registration support and scheduling of programme activities.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day programme operations, including managing timetables, events, workshops, seminars and doctoral research conferences.
  • Act as an ambassador for the programme, positioning the School as a premier for academics, entrepreneurs and business leaders.
  • Maintain accurate student records, marks, evaluations and business intelligence data in line with university policies.
  • Oversee financial administration including billing, budgeting, bursary management and payments to service providers.
  • Provide academic and assessment support by liaising with Lecturers, Examiners and academic leadership to ensure quality assurance.
  • Manage, lead and develop staff within the programme area, ensuring high performance, service quality and compliance with HR processes.
  • Ensure adherence to governance, regulatory and institutional policies across all programme operations.

Minimum requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7) with preference in Social Sciences, Psychology, Business Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a professional services environment, preferably in adult learning, consulting, or hospitality and events management.
  • Sound understanding of the higher education sector.
  • Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) or Virtual Learning Environment (preferably Blackboard).
  • Experience in academic administration or strong administrative, project management and coordination experience.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency.
