Job description
- Present lectures to Undergraduate and Honours Students;
- Develop new course/module material as well as practical guides for undergrad, Honours modules and/or Short Learning Programmes (SLPs);
- Participate in research production and supervision of undergraduate, Honours and Postgraduate students in the department/Faculty;
- Participation in voluntary associations and/or professional bodies;
- Participation in department administration
Minimum requirements
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related and recognised qualification;
- Track-record publication in conference proceedings or peer-review articles and book chapters
- Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
- A minimum of three years teaching experience at a tertiary institution, and/or
- A minimum of three years industrial experience.
- Master’s degree (preferably a PhD) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related and recognised qualification;
- A candidate holding a Master’s degree must undertake to complete a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering within a year or two upon joining the department;
- Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or must undertake to do so within three (3) months of joining the department;
- A minimum of three years teaching experience at a tertiary institution, and/or
- A minimum of three years industrial experience.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with high level of proficiency in English
- Good oral communication in at least one other language
- Good planning and organisational skills
- Computer literacy including MS Office (MS Word and Excel)
