Job description

Responsibilities:

Provide a single point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within the University’s desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, via e-mail or via remote) in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user assistance where required.

Minimum requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric with National Diploma in IT (NQF level 6 or equivalent)
  • A Certification or equivalent
  • N Certification or equivalent
  • ITIL v3/4 Foundation
 
Experience:
  • Windows Desktop Support (3 years)
  • Apple Support (2 year)
  • Mobile device support - IOS and Android (2 years)
  • Windows Server & Networking (optional)
  • Linux Support (optional)
  • Operations in IT Support - Customer engagement
 
Knowledge:
  • ITIL Knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows Desktop support
  • Knowledge of Networking 
  • Basic Windows Server and Active Directory support
  • Basic knowledge on the Linux Operating System
  • Knowledge of video conferencing devices
