Job Description:

Create, provide and maintain the UJ knowledgebase to ensure efficient and comprehensive access to information to a diverse client community by making accessible the total information sources of the UJ Library
 
Responsibilities: 
 
  • Copy and original cataloguing of print and electronic materials.
  • Maintaining of Local holdings on WorldCat
  • Keeping authority files up-to date
  • Undertaking special projects as required
  • Cataloguing and classification of UJ e-Theses
  • Maintaining the integrity of catalogue

Minimum requirements

  • Degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum of two years’ recent experience in cataloguing OR
  • Minimum of two years’ recent experience with working with metadata
  • Excellent understanding of RDA

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independent.
  • Computer Literacy
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
