Job description
- Developing a research pipeline and undertaking research projects in the broader fields of Accounting and Finance stimulating and supervising multidisciplinary research.
- Assisting in the implementation of the departmental research strategy, performing, and encouraging scientific research and fulfilling a mentoring role.
- Engaging in international collaborative research partnerships and attract external funding.
- Supervision of Postgraduate students at Masters and Doctoral level.
- Lecturing on Master’s level.
- Making a meaningful difference through community service.
- Participate in Departmental/School/College committee work.
- Fulfil administrative duties as required by the Head of Department.
Minimum requirements
- A relevant Doctoral degree (NQF 10) in Accounting or its related disciplines.
- Strong track record of high impact research as demonstrated among others by publications and citations in international recognised journals, books, book chapters and conference proceedings.
- Proven supervision record at Masters’ and Doctoral level.
- Working experience in the Higher Education environment.
- Knowledgeable in the field of Accounting and Finance or its related disciplines.
- Fluent in written and oral English communication.
- Proven experience in developing societal impact, evidenced by national and global visibility.
- Computer Literacy.
- Proficiency in English.
- Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal relationships and a team player.
- Analytical thinking.
- NRF rated scholar.
- Between eight- and ten-years’ working experience in the Higher Education environment.
- CA(SA).
- Multidisciplinary research focus including Industry 4.0.
- Evidence of national/international reputation as an established and distinguished researcher/creative practitioner, including an appropriately high number of peer citations.
- Demonstration of high-level and constant engagement in pedagogical activities within and beyond the classroom, in respect of teaching materials, assessment practices, integrated learning skills and learning.
- Evidence of discipline-related external assessment and recognition as a leading expert in discipline-related pedagogy
