Job description
- Conducting research in Transport Economics, Supply Chain Management
- Establishing and managing research projects focused on specific niches within the department.
- Managing and coordinating primary data collection, including fieldwork and dataset management
- Utilising strong analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative) to derive insights from research findings.
- Utilising data science techniques to enhance research outcomes (added advantage)
- Publishing research outcomes in top-tier journals and conferences in Transport Economics and/or Supply Chain Management
- Providing postgraduate supervision and mentorship
- Writing grant proposals and securing funding for research projects
- Training staff and students on various research-related techniques
- Participating in internal and external programmes activities and interventions
- Serving on internal department, school, college university committees
- Engaging in activities that will promote global department excellence and stature.
Minimum requirements
- A Ph.D. in Transport Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
- Experience in study design, in particular, survey methodology
- Statistical programming skills for data management and analysis
- Experience with R, STATA, SPSS and other relevant software
- Demonstrated ability to write successful grant proposals and secure research funding.
- Proven working experience in the Higher Education environment.
- An excellent academic reputation evidenced by a sustained record of research output.
- Strong quantitative and/ or qualitative data analysis, written, and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Solutions oriented.
- Collaborative team player
- Knowledge of the online learning environment
- Previous exposure to management of portfolios within a higher education environment
- Evidence of visibility within the academic community
- Supervision (to completion) of Master’s and PhD students
