Job Specification...

Central Academic Administration: Certification

Responsibilities: 

  • Printing, issuing, and re-issuing of certificates.
  • Ensuring risk management and legal compliance for all issued qualification certificates.
  • Maintaining a register of all qualification certificates issued by the former merged institutions and of the University of Johannesburg.
  • Responding to external requests for verification of university qualifications within set turnaround time.
  • Dealing with internal and external auditors.
  • Management of subordinates in the Certification Office
  • Updating and maintaining the master programme swith certificate numbers on it after the printing of the graduation certificates, certification information on ITS (capturing certificate numbers) and the certificate number register on Excel spreadsheet.
  • Filing documents on Perceptive Content (Electronic Filing System for Certification documents)
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries, correspondence, email enquiries regarding graduations and certifications.
  • General office administration.

Minimum Requirements...

Any 3 year Diploma or degree (NQF level 7) and a minimum of three years’ experience in planning and coordinating graduation ceremonies, printing, issuing and re-issuing of certificates within a higher education environment

  • Extensive and proven competence in, and knowledge of, the following computer programs: ITS, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, email and Perceptive Content (Electronic Filing system).
  • Excellent interpersonal, intercultural, organisational, communication, office administration skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and to work under pressure, accurately without supervision.
